My Story...

I have always found science fascinating since a very young age. Being my father a physician and my mother a dentist, I grew up in environment where living healthy was important. A vegetable juice made from beets, celery, and carrots, cucumber and bananas, to neutralize the bitter flavor, was my daily snack. At home it was a common have vegetables in our kitchen; sodas was something we had only during special occasions, and having breakfast was always the rule "eat your breakfast because you never know when you will eat again" was my mom's saying every morning.

Unlike my friends, making healthier snack choices was not difficult for me. In fact, as a kid I was mocked for bringing frozen broccoli in my lunchbox. My interest in nutrition became stronger when my elder sister participated in the Miss Venezuela pageant. She had a battle with eating disorders, and that's when I realized the strong connection between food and empowerment of the body.

I started my career in Dietetics and Nutrition in the Central University of Venezuela in 2007. However, three years later I receive a scholarship to continue my studies in Florida International University, and so I did. I completed my BS Dietetics and Nutrition in 2011 and since then my passion to help people with eating behaviors, have grown deeper and deeper.  My goal is to implement a healthy lifestyle by using practical tricks and tips that can be easily implemented in your day a day.
